Lady Eagles Win Big

February 6, 2010

The Lady Eagles had a rough week losing leading rebounder and second leading scorer, Erin Entinghe, due to a knee injury. The Lady Eagles traveled to Vermilion this past Saturday to play the Lady Sailors. The only lead the Lady Eagels had in the game came in the final 3 minutes of overtime play. The team was led by three players who finished the game with double-doubles. Senior Marlene Michelich contributed 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Senior Ashley Evans scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Sophomore Emily Julius scored 15 points and had 13 rebounds. However, Junior Brianne Kistler and Sophomore Natalie Wilden led the team defensively to allow for the great offensive run in the second half. The Lady Eagles are now 12-5 overall and 9-2 in conference play. The team hosts the Midview Lady Middies this Wednesday, 2/10 @ 7:30pm.....Please come out and show your support for the Lady Eagles!! GO EAGLES!!!

The JV Lady Eagles bounced back after being defeated by Rocky River last week, sinking the Vermilion Sailors 39 - 33. The ladies improved their record to 11-6 overall and 9-2 in the conference. Once again, a great effort on defense, the Lady Eagles had 25 steals to help in the nail biting victory. Rachel Dudukovich led the way in steals with 6 and Erica Mirth had 5. Leading the way scoring was Michelle Janollari with 11 points followed by Erica Mirth with 6. The Lady Eagles finish out the season with 3 home games remaining. Please come out and support your Lady Eagles. Great job, Ladies!
