Boosters Spring Sports Awards

Congratulations to Boys Track and Field for winning the Spring Sport Parent Members in the Booster Club with 69%. Coach Lanham and Coach Ulery accept the $350 check from the Athletic Booster President Bob Puzak. The money will be placed in the Team Account. Second Place, 64%, went to Girls Softball coached by Coach Matuszak. A check for $150 from the Boosters will be deposited in their Team Account. The Boosters would like to thank the parents of both teams for being members!
Booster Night at the Races a Success!

Thanks to Denise Bevins and her team of helpers, the Night at the Races netted the Booster Club over $13,000!!! The Booster Board, the Athletic Department and especially the Avon Student Athletes thank you for attending and supporting this important fund raiser.

Boosters Offer Up to Ten $500 Scholarships to 2012 Avon Athletes

Avon Athletic Boosters is pleased to announce the significant expansion of its Athletic Scholarship Program. Since its inception in 1979, the Avon Athletic Boosters Club has proudly provided financial support for Avon's athletes and athletic programs, including two $500 scholarships given annually to graduating seniors. The Boosters have always highly valued these scholarships because they simultaneously support both athletic and academic achievement.
Starting in 2012, the Boosters Club has decided to increase the number of annual scholarships to ten, reflecting the larger population of athletes in Avon as well as the larger numbers pursuing education after graduation. Booster President Bob Puzak, who chaired the effort to enhance the program, said, "The success of athletics in Avon is a reflection of the incredible efforts of so many outstanding people. The Athletic Boosters is proud to have the opportunity to recognize up to ten of these individuals - those who have enabled the success of Avon's teams and who make our teams more like family."
Applications and information about the scholarships are available on the boosters website and from the Avon Athletic Director. Application deadline is April 30, 2012.

Boosters Winter Sports Awards

Coach Fitch, Coach Baker and Coach Tokarczyk accept a check for $350 from Booster President Bob Puzak
The Boosters recently awarded the Boys Basketball team with $350 and the Hockey team with $150 for having the first and second highest percentage of family Booster members based off of the team roster for a winter sport. Boy Varisity Basketball had 131% participation and Hockey had 106%. Congradulations to both teams!
Athletic Boosters Coupon Book

Mainstreet Productions, a printing and marketing firm located in Rocky River, is selling Avon Athletic Boosters Attractions Coupon Books to Avon residents, primarily through phone solicitations. This activity and the coupon books are authorized by the Boosters, which receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book. We are not aware of any coupons in this book which are not being honored. We confirmed this with Mainstreet Productions and, in the case of Quaker Steak & Lube and Wood & Wine, the producer has confirmed a written agreement signed by the management which has not, to their knowledge, been revoked. The Boosters supported the football team with fan buses for the two playoff games in Fremont and a banner at the Avon Gazebo.

The Avon Athletic Boosters are now offering an online membership payment option. We're teaming with PayPal to provide a secure, online payment as a convenience to Boosters members. Traditional forms (click here to download and print) will also be available for those who prefer to pay with cash or checks ($35.00/Family, $10.00/senior Citizen).
PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to use this option, there will be a 'convenience fee' of $1.09 (for Eagle membership) and $.53 (for Senior Citizen membership) added to your membership total.

Lottery Reminder
The lottery tickets enclosed in your newsletter are based on the Ohio Lottery Pick-3 drawing held daily. The tickets are good for the entire month and only cost $5 each if you play the 7:30 PM drawing, $10 if you play the 12:30 PM and 7:30 PM drawings. You win $50 if your exact number is drawn and $20 for the number before/after yours.
Additional Note: Do you want to play a certain ticket number each month? Do you want to play each month, but have trouble remembering to play? Arrangements can be made with Michelle Lance to pay for 3 months, 6 months, or even one year at a time! The lottery is an easy and fun way to support Avon Athletics!
