Your Avon Eagles boys varsity basketball team won their first Conference Championship in 22 years! The Avon Eagles outlasted the Midview Middies for a 54-50 win Friday night.

Eagles Earn Coach Sapara First Victory

The Avon (1-0) boys varsity basketball team tallied their first win of the season last night, fighting for a 46-36 victory over Brookside (0-3). Kevin Sapara won his first game as the Eagles' new head coach.

Junior Brian Kelly led the Eagles with 12 points, Senior Jack Poyle added 11 points. Avon also won the rebounding battle as the Eagles' big men cleaned up the boards. The Eagles' Nest was in mid-season form, providing some extra energy for the team.

Congratulations to Coach Sapara and the Eagles!

Earlier in the evening, the JV team defeated Brookside, 47-25.

The Eagles are back in action Friday as they travel to Lakewood to face the Rangers.
