Swim Team Defeats E.C.

The swim team swam against Elyria Catholic last night. The girls team beat EC 100-66 and the boys beat EC 133-29. There were several great swims and we look forward to our next meet against Lakewood on Friday at Lakewood High School, 7pm! Hope to see you there!
Swim Team - Successful Weekend!

The swim team had an eventful weekend! On Friday they competed against Bay, where the boys won 97-83 and girls lost 110 to 66. The girls 400 Free Relay broke the school record with a 3:58.68. The record consists of Alyssa Sauter, Erin Pettegrew, Hope Balser and Rachel Stark. Then on Saturday we had 15 swimmers qualify for Northeast Classic. Erin Pettegrew qualified for finals at Canton's Pool in her 50 Free and 100 Back. Our next meet is Tuesday against Elyria Catholic at French Creek YMCA at 6pm.
Swimming Posts Loss to Rocky River

The Eagle Swim Team swam against Rocky River last night. The men and women lost to Rocky River. Erin Pettegrew finished first in the 50 Free and Alexander Johnson placed first in diving. The Eagles go against Bay on Friday at RRHS at 7pm. This is also Senior Night so we look forward to seeing you there!
Lady Eagle Swimmers 1st Overall!

The Eagle Swim Team swam at the EC Pentathlon on Saturday. The girls team won the meet overall and the boys finished 4th. The top 28 swimmers qualified to swim a 100 IM. Avon had 10 swimmers qualify, Erin Pettegrew, Rachel Stark, Carly Croyle, Alyssa Sauter, Hope Balser, Zanny Sauter, Teresa Bell, Joe Tamesis, Nick Pettegrew and Chris Pulice. Avon had 4 swimmers finish in the top 12. Erin Pettegrew finished 3rd and Rachel Stark tied for 6th. For the boys, Joe Tamesis finished 8th and Nick Pettegrew finished 10th. Our next meet is Tuesday against Rocky River at RRHS.

Boys/Girls Swim Teams Defeat Independence

The swim team had their first dual meet last night against Independence. Girls beat Independence 121-48 and boys won 92-78. Erin Pettegrew broke her old 100 fly record with a new time of 1:01.37! The next swim meet is Wednesday December 12th against Fairview at 6pm at Fairview Gemini Center.
Avon Places 2nd and 3rd at Rocket Relays

The Swim Team had their first meet this Saturday, Rocket Relays. Out of 12 teams the Girls team finished second and the Boys team finished 3rd. The girls team won the 200 Backstroke relay (Erin Pettegrew, Zanny Sauter, Carly Croyle, Rachel Stark) and the 200 Breaststroke Relay (Alyssa Sauter, Hope Balser, Teresa Bell, Rachel Poyle). Rachel Stark broke the school record in the 200 Freestyle. The boys team came in second place in the backstroke (Henry Jani, Colin Fogarty, Nick Pettegrew, Alexander Johnson) and won the 200 Breaststroke Relay (Joe Tamesis, Sam Squillante, Chris Pulice, Henry Jani). The next meet for the team is this Thursday against Independence at 4:30pm.
